Welcome to the Office of Robert A. Beatty, MD.
Dr. Beatty is a neurosurgeon dedicated to advanced spinal surgery. Located in Hinsdale, Illinois since 1967, he was the first neurosurgeon in Chicago to dedicate his practice exclusively to spinal surgery and has since been extensively published on the subject. His observation and treatment of patients has had over 40 research papers appear in over a dozen different medical journals, both domestic and international.
With over 5000 surgeries completed, Dr. Beatty specializes in:
- Degenerative Problems of the Neck and Lumbar Spine
- Herniated Discs
- Nerve Compression
- Spinal Stenosis
His practice accepts worker's compensation, personal injury and Medicare and PPO patients. Dr. Beatty sees patients from all of Chicagoland, including Cook, DuPage, LaSalle and Will Counties as well as patients from Central Illinois and even out of state. His office also uses the latest proven techniques. They offer microsurgery, mesenchymal stem cells, and interbody fusions.
Dr. Beatty attended the University of Oregon where he earned Phi Beta Kappa honors and earned his medical degree from the University of Oregon Medical School. He is currently an assistant professor of neurosurgical surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Beatty writes:
"Ever since I myself had a spinal fusion procedure done many years ago, I have been interested in the problems of the spine. After running a busy general neurosurgical practice of brain tumors, aneurysms, trauma, etc for over 20 years, I restricted my practice to spinal surgery exclusively in 1988, becoming one of the first neurosurgeons in America to do so.
Recognizing that illness and medical care can be bewildering to patients, I have strived to provide my patients 1 on 1 care to avoid the 'assemly line approach to medicine'. Because of the complexity of decisions patients have to make, I spend a great deal of time discussing options and helping my patients to make the best decisions for them.
Although I have completed over 5000 spinal operations, I do believe that conservative treatment should be tried first, whenever possible, before committing to surgery. We use the latest proven technologies and techniques. Whatever your problem, I assure you both I and my staff are dedicated to providing you the best possible teatment to improve your quality of life.
Please contact us today for more information."
